AfterShock — Antimicrobial Mold & Mildew Coating

Description

AfterShock offers the ultimate combination of durability, ease of application, and fungal resistance to address mold growth in nearly any situation. This white, antimicrobial coating kills residual mold and mildew left after pre-cleaning and disinfecting contaminated surfaces, while inhibiting future mold and mildew growth and spread. AfterShock is ideal for interior wall surfaces in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.

How to Use

Surface Preparation

  • AfterShock is supplied ready-to-use; stir thoroughly before application.

  • Do not mix with other coatings, solvents, or oil-based colors.

  • Remove damaged materials and clean surfaces thoroughly. Surfaces must be free of dust, mildew, mold, dirt, grease, loose paint, oil, glue size, calcimine, wax, soap, and other contaminants.

  • Patch surface irregularities with a suitable patching compound.

  • AfterShock is self-priming on bare gypsum drywall, composition board, ceiling tiles, and concrete.

  • Do not apply if air or surface temperature is below 50°F or if drying conditions are poor. Ensure adequate ventilation during application.

Substrate-Specific Preparation

  • Drywall: Sand joint cement smooth without abrading paper.

  • Ferrous Metal: Clean and prime with Fiberlock IAQ™ 4000 acrylic direct-to-metal primer.

  • Wood: Seal knots and stains with Fiberlock IAQ 5000 stain-blocking primer.

  • Masonry Block: Apply one coat of Fiberlock IAQ 3000 acrylic block filler for a denser surface.


Application Tools

  • Brush: Synthetic, nylon, or polyester bristles

  • Roller: Synthetic fiber, 3/8” nap or longer

  • Airless Spray: Pressure 2000-3000 PSI, tip sizes .017 to .021


Product Application

  • Remove gross filth or heavy soil before application. Pre-clean heavily soiled areas.

  • Apply AfterShock generously and uniformly using brush, roller, or airless spray, ensuring complete surface coverage.

  • Allow to air dry.

  • Inspect regularly and reapply if coating film becomes damaged.

  • AfterShock kills residual mold and mildew on the surface and prevents their future growth on the cured coating.


Coverage

  • Smooth surfaces: 250–400 sq. ft. per gallon

  • Porous surfaces: 150–300 sq. ft. per gallon


Drying Time (@ 70°F, 50% Relative Humidity)

  • To touch: 1 hour

  • Recoat: 4 hours


Cleanup

  • Clean tools and drippings with warm soapy water before AfterShock dries.

  • Dispose of waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
